It’s true. At Kelsick Market, we know the customers when they walk through the doors. We know what beer they buy their husbands, what nights they prefer we cook so they can relax and who prefers gluten free snacks. But we want you all to know more about us, too! In this series, we ask the Kelsick team members more about them…things that might not come up when you’re purchasing that bottle of wine or pound of homemade chicken salad for tomorrow’s lunch. Enjoy getting to know us. We’ve enjoyed getting to know you.

‘Inside Kelsick’ with Sales Associate, Susan

If you’ve been to Kelsick in the last couple of years, you’ve met Susan. And chances are, if you’ve chatted with her while selecting a new varietal for this weekend’s dinner party or asked about the latest craft beers on the shelves, you’ve figured out what we already know – Susan is one smart cookie. She’s a voracious reader, a huge proponent of solar energy and derives genuine pleasure in learning anything and everything (it’s probably why she can speak so deeply about any and every natural and gourmet product we carry).

So we sat down with Susan and asked her a little more about, well, her.

Enjoy getting to know more about Susan here!

Who is your favorite fictional character?

Mma Ramotswe from the No.1 Ladies Detective series because she is a very wise woman.

What is your biggest extravagance?

Skiing. My favorite places are Talluride Colorado and Switzerland, it’s like being in a fairy tale.

What do you like about Main Street?

I like the variety of stores we have and that most of them are very visually appealing. We have great landscaping and facades, the Gloucester Main Street Association is doing a great job.

What scents or flavors make you giddy?

I love the smell of coconut-lime verbena lotion and the smell of a turkey cooking at Thanksgiving.

How are you most helpful to Kelsick’s customers?

I like helping them choose wine and hors d’oeuvres and I love looking things up and learning when we’re not sure.

What are three words to describe Susan? (From Sales Associate Kara)

Good hearted, a passion for nature, genuine
