The Kelsick Market customers are truly some of the best, most generous customers in this community. We are so proud to announce that thanks to the support of our incredible customers, Kelsick Market donated this week $400 to the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic, marking the third Kelsick KICK BACK program check presentation of the year!
The best part? That total didn’t include the donations – $170 – our customers made in the market directly throughout the month of June.
WHAT IS THE KICK BACK PROGRAM?
Over the last 25 years, this community has given Kelsick Specialty Market so much. As part of our 25th anniversary celebration this year, we decided to KICK BACK to the community in a meaningful way. Starting in April and running each month through the fall we have selected an organization in our community to support through a portion of our sales.
In April 2017 we selected The Samaritan Group, Inc. as the inaugural KICK BACK recipient, May donations went to the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society and June’s support benefited the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic.
ABOUT THE GLOUCESTER MATHEWS CARE CLINIC
The Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic was inspired by the Abingdon Episcopal Church outreach committee to provide medical care to the “working poor” – those who are employed individuals that cannot afford health insurance. Many of the members of the clinical staff then and now are benevolent volunteers with as passion for serving the community.
Founded in 1998, this non-profit offers uninsured patients dental and clinical attention. To be eligible, patients must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the Middle Peninsula, below the 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and have no insurance.
Donations and volunteers play a large role in the success of the medical and dental services of the clinic.
